Graden sure loves his dog, and that sweet dog loves his boy. Graden picks him up, rolls him around on the floor, and always gets LOTS of kisses. The funny thing about Max is that he knows exactly where kisses go...right on the lips, and he does everything he can to plant his tongue there!

Shand & Zach play the coffee house
July 13, 2012
Such a fun night! Shandryn has been working diligently on her CD...writing lyrics, creating the music, practicing, practicing, practicing, and recording...oh yah, she has also been practicing. :) I love having our home filled with her music. It is beautiful. Again, she simply amazes me. This is the second time she has played at the coffee house, but this time she wasn't solo. Her very talented friend, Zach P., played with her. (I have tried several times to post video clips, but it isn't working...) bummer.

making ice cream
a day with the cousins, skylar & zach July 5, 2012
Zach had been wanting to make homemade ice cream for some time, so I finally had he and Skylar over to whip some up. They actually made lunch with graden (gold) and dessert. What awesome boys!budget meal: gold
One of Graden's favorites...
When Graden was little boy, like 4 years old little, he was at his grandma Frieda's house for a visit. When lunch time rolled around, she prepared a pot of gold for that cute little boy, and he loves it just as much today as he did 23 years ago! So, whenever I ask the kids what they want for dinner that would be quick to prepare, Graden always requests "gold." It is actually tasty (especially if you like tomato soup with grilled cheese), inexpensive, and very quick--just my kind of meal! We were lucky to have Skylar & Zach over the last time we made it; they were great helpers. :) I especially love graden's "dumpling" method. He said that after they are pinched closed, you should roll them into a ball so that they are like dumplings. Unlike my method of just plopping them in the soup as soon as they are pinched. He is also a fan of "silver" (monterey jack). We have made this with just about every kind of cheese that can be found in a normal fridge! YUM!pot of gold
ingredients:
tomato soup
cheese block
biscuits in a can

"Want to go for a W?"
Code for "Dogs, we are going for a walk!" Trust me, they know exactly what a W is, and boy do they get super excited--running in circles and trying to figure how to open the bench that holds their leashes--all the while happily barking. This is one of their favorite places to walk. They love to run, explore, and sniff. It is so awesome that we live on the edge of town where these places are a plenty! :) Just look at those smiles.

{blast from the past: McCall}
McCall senior pics June 30, 2011
My brother, Brian, has one of the most beautiful daughters--McCall. Just look at her! Gorgeous. I was super excited that she asked me take some senior pictures while she was visiting last summer. (I am far from a professional, but that didn't stop me from pretending. Plus, how can a photographer go wrong with this beauty?) I love when she comes to Green River and look forward to our time together. We had a blast...and several hundred pics later decided to give the ole Nikon a break. The best thing about McCall is that she is just as sweet as she is beautiful! Enjoy a small sampling...

Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies
a new favorite
I loved spending time with my grandma Munson. One of the many memories I have with her is making no-bake cookies. They were a favorite then and still a favorite now.I also love peanut butter, so when I came across this peanut butter version, I knew I had to try it. It was an instant favorite. You will love them too. Enjoy! :)
new friends
sweet ladies: LB & Sara
Sometimes our paths cross with others that we are instantly thankful for. This happened to me last week at the scrapbook retreat I attended. Regina and I were going to be roommates with two other ladies. We talked about how strange it might be to spend 5 days with two women we had never met. But, after meeting and talking with LB & Sara for only a few minutes, Regina and I looked at each other and said, "We have the nicest roommates." I knew that these two ladies were going to be my friends--and not just because they share my distaste of country music! :) They are kind, funny, thoughtful, good women, and I am so glad we were matched up with them for roomies. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with them and hopefully getting together with them again someday. It was such a fun coincidence...as I was telling Shand about how awesome my new friends are, she asked to see a picture of them. While she was looking at my camera, I checked my email and found this...
To the BEST roomies evah!!
LB & Sara were on their way home to Minnesota. Yes, those crazy ladies drove 21+ hours to attend the retreat. As they traveled along I-80, they passed right through our beautiful, windy state of Wyoming. They sure look like they are enjoying their stop in our little Green River town. Too bad we were not there to share this photo op with them.
